Srinagar, May 17 (KNO): Operation Sindoor served as a significant and strategic response to enemy aggression, said Jammu and Kashmir Waqf Board Chairperson Darakshan Andrabi. At shelling-hit Uri, the Waqf Board Chairperson praised Indian armed forces for the success. Speaking to the reporters, Waqf Chief, as per the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) commended the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, attributing the operation’s success to his decisive governance. “Sindoor Operation was a successful operation and under the leadership of the Prime Minister Modi, it has shown that India is not to be provoked. Our armed forces entered the enemy’s territory and gave a befitting reply. We salute our brave soldiers and the Prime Minister for this resolute action,” she stated. She said that the retaliation served as a symbolic justice for the lives lost in the terrorist attack, expressing that “the souls of those who lost their lives in the attack must have found peace". Addressing the destruction caused by the shelling, the Waqf Board Chairperson emphasized the need for immediate rehabilitation measures. “This is not the loss of a single household but of the entire community. We will speak to the Centre and the local administration to ensure relief and support reaches the victims.” She further said that the Prime Minister has promised peace and prosperity for everyone in Jammu and Kashmir. “We must ensure that people feel secure enough to return to their homes and rebuild their lives.” The Waqf Board Chairperson called on all stakeholders to help restore confidence among the border residents, stressing that “their minds and hearts should be at peace so that they come back and rebuild, because now there is peace”—(KNO)
